My career has been a journey across banking, financial markets, and risk management—starting from a graduate trainee desk in Dhaka and evolving into a dual Market and Operational Risk leadership role in Port Moresby.
Over the years, I have had the opportunity to work across diverse banking environments: treasury operations, treasury control and AML compliance with Citi Bangladesh and QNB in Qatar, transaction monitoring with Rabobank in Wellington, risk advisory at EY-NZ, and treasury and operations leadership with Habib Bank Limited back in Dhaka.
At TISA Bank, I was entrusted within my first three months to establish and manage the Treasury Front Office. From February 2026, I took on Operational Risk alongside my Market Risk responsibilities, embracing a broader leadership mandate built on a simple belief: leadership means ownership, not title.
I had the pleasure of working with Shafiul and was always impressed by his professionalism, attention to detail and the way he carried himself under pressure.
